Whats New For The 2020 Volkswagen Jetta?

Spread the love

Good value and a low price are how reviewers would characterize the new Jetta.  Why not see which model your car lease dealer in Long Island will stock.  Jetta still stands out as one of the company’s best-selling sedans whatever the model.   It’s better equipped with more features, and above all affordable. The new Jetta hugs the road when it drives.

What Extras Does it Come With?

The 2020 Volkswagen Jetta now offers a Cold Weather package for the SE and SE R-Line trims, giving you a heated steering wheel as well as heated rear seats. The heated washer nozzles and a remote start are a nice touch.   Volkswagen’s Car-Net connectivity system is now a standard feature on all models. Volkswagen also upgraded the headlamps to LED projector units and LED daytime running lights.  With the 2020 Jetta automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, and rear cross-traffic alerts come as extra. Additionally, adaptive dampers and wireless charging now come standard on the Jetta GLI Autobahn.

What is the Engine Like?

2020 Volkswagen Jetta GLI   packs a more powerful 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque on tap. It rectifies all of the conventional model’s issues regarding performance. At 40 miles to the gallon on the highway and 30 mpg in the city, you will find this model good value.  Every single model apart from the  GLI is fitted with a 1.4L turbocharged inline-four engine that’s powerful enough to give you 147 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. While most versions come with smooth-shifting 8-speed autos, the entry-level model has a 6-speed stick. The Jetta only qualifies for a front-wheel-drive.

Safety First

The current VW Jetta received “Good” ratings in all the IIHS crash tests and a “Superior” rating for its optional automatic emergency braking system and we expect the same safety ratings from the 2020 VW Jetta. Good news for passengers and drivers.

Does It Look Good?

The new GLI is essentially a slightly sportier version of the standard Jetta. Its grille now has a honeycomb layout, while the horizontal trim that splits the element in two and is finished in red.  Instead of a red “GTI” badge, the sedan now features red “GLI” lettering.
